When Gram Vikas intervened in this village in, their first task was to convince the people to form a common consensus on allowing Gram Vikas to initiate its Integrated Tribal Development Programme.
Gram Vikas believes that the holistic development of a village is not possible unless there is a collective and united effort made by the people. Which meant that all families in the village, without exception, had to be involved right from the beginning. For this Gram Vikas had to prove their credibility.
This was not an easy job. But, however with repeated efforts and interactions with the people Gram Vikas was finally able to get the people to sign up to the ITDP in 1979.
