Elected as Ashoka Fellow for exploring the democratic potential of the Internet.

He has recently been selected as an 'Ashoka Fellow' - a prestigious fellowship that supports social entrepreneurs with practical dreams likely to positively influence society.

Web master for online fundraising campaign. Also worked as a programmer. MAHITI is a project of SAMUHA.

Setup express apolitical and secular express platform during Ayodhya/Bombay riots. 5000 students holding candles on MG Road, Bangalore.

Founded MAHITI in 1998 along with Sreekanth and Allan to provide appropriate and affordable IT services to the voluntary sector. Started by providing free E-mail service and web sites for around 20 organisations. Built over 50 web/intranet/kiosk/multimedia applications for clients including - Ashoka.org, Indian Foundation for the Arts, ChangeMakers.net, Datacons, National Law School University of India, N-logue, Partners in Change.Joint promoter of BangaloreCares.org, a directory of 570 voluntary organisations from Karnataka.

He decided to switch to Linux because of the free source policy of the operative system. The Windows system was too expensive to maintain for all the machines do to the feed for the license. Linux sustain itself by charging for services (the same policy adopted by Mahiti). At the moment they have only three machines which still run with Windows system the other run with Linux OS. They had problems in switching the systems because it is like starting again from zero; it is a completely different structure. An other problem with Linux was the lack of professional applications available that make it almost impossible to choice if you work in graphics, designs, or TV.
