CKS provides research and analysis services for revolutionizing the possibilities of social and economic development in rural and semi-rural areas. They investigate, document and analyze three broad areas of research, namely, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Biotechnology and its applications in Agriculture and Medicine.  It is trying to bridge the digital divided by finding sustainable and appropriate methods of introducing ITCs in the rural areas.  Hence, it has been chosen to be documented and is included in its ‘IT and C' category.
