The prime role of the India Habitat Forum is to be able to form a network of all the different organizations and individuals, who are involved in the processes of building a sustainable habitat.  Using this collective platform, it wishes to bring about a change policies and the attitude towards the various issues concerning housing and the built environment in general.  They do so by generating awareness about the various issues and raising a common voice to bring about the changes.  Hence, they have been put in the category of ‘political processes'.
