Mahiti

Mahiti Infotech Pvt. Ltd. is an offshoot of the NGO Samuha.  It provides software programming and web-site development services to all kinds of clients, from the corporate to the government and the non-governmental sectors.  It believes in a policy of using the Linux operating system and free software such as the Plone and Zope and hence they charge only for the services and consultancy and not for the software.  They also conduct training in the use of these softwares.  They are a profit-making firm, however, for clients involved in the voluntary sector they subsidize their fees.  Due do these interesting policies, Mahiti has been chosen to be documented and is included in its ‘IT and C' category.
