Mr. Srinivas Murthy, Architect

History/struggle
Architect Srinivas Murthy graduated from the School Of Planning and Architecture, Delhi.
He did his training under graduate training with Ar. Anil Laul, at the Anangpur Building Centre, who was also his teacher in the school of architecture.
He set up his office in Vizag in 19,
He is a faculty in the Department of Architecture at the Andhra University.

Srinivas was born and brought up in Delhi. He comes from a traditional South Indian family and was, hence oriented towards arts. He was interested in architecture since his school days. Hence, he took up a course in Architecture in Bhopal, where his father was posted. However, in the second year of college, he switched to the School of Planning and Architecture in Delhi, under the student exchange programme. He was very influenced by the teachers and the teaching environment of SPA.

Right from his college days he had this great thirst for traveling. He claims that he has traveled to almost all the districts of the country, except the northeast and Jammu and Kashmir. He has also made several international visits.

For him appropriateness of architecture deals with justified care of the eco-system.

It deals with energy systems in a building, conservation of natural resources and design efficiency.

Having being inspired by the works of a German architect Dr. G. K. Ming who has researched on the rural habitat in India. Hence, why not evolve design parameters from them.
