The Shelter Project is a joint initiative of UNDP and SDC, the Swiss Agency for Development Corporation. The funding from SDC covers, besides the project cost, the administrative costs and salaries (Voluntary Living Allowances) of the UNVs working for the project.
The costs of the actual ground level implementation of the project which includes training programmes, construction and infrastructure development and livelihood schemes are also drawn from the various governmental and non-governmental schemes which are made available to the people.
