From its modest beginning in 1955 as a independent institution started by three young architects Academy of Architecture has evolved into one of the leading colleges of Architecture in Mumbai and India. The college has consistently shown commitment to quality professional education and endeavoured to make it cost-effective / accessible to all strata of society.

Though it prescribes the University of Mumbai B Arch programme since 1999 the Academy has maintained a dynamic course content where students get exposed to the diversity that the profession offers. The Academy is a unique ‘nodal’ professional institute.

The facilities (library, art-gallery, technology workshop, photography studio, Computer lab, Auditorium) and the activities (workshops, seminars, exhibitions) bring together not only students & faculty ; which includes a large visiting faculty, but also past students, active professionals and industry.
