Architecture and Development initiates a project of reconstruction in the state of Tamil Nadu, which aims at taking into account the situation of communities before the tsunami, to rehablitate them. It concentrates in particular with that section of affected population which are not acknowledged as beneficiaries by government authorities and that are therefore excluded from the aid provided by the government or other NGos.

Equipped with a connected computer, newspapers, information materials and books, the VKCs are the local access and dissemination points for the RDC.
Kottucherrymedu, Kilinjalmedu and Karaikalmedu are the three villages in this region which DA has intervened for building 3 housing colonies.
In Rajakamangalamthurai the majority of the land where the inhabitants live in the centre of the village belong to the Catholic parish ; its occupants cannot thus obtain document of title.
In Arunthanganvillai each home has been built in a special way- it was agreed right from the beginning to build in situ context, to take into consideration the size of the plots of the beneficiaries, and not to cut (…)
Some beneficiaries had fields in the centre of the village of Arunthangavillai where they had dilapidated shacks made of coconut tree leaves or makeshift houses. For constructing their new homes, it was sometimes (…)
